What is a Japanese Kei Class vehicle?
Kei cars are tiny vehicles made in Japan—only about 11 feet long and 5 feet wide, roughly the size of two adult bicycles end-to-end. Their small engines use less gas, cost less to buy and maintain, and help keep the air cleaner. They’re perfect for squeezing into tight parking spots and zipping through narrow city streets.

Kei Trader is a friendly online marketplace just for imported Kei cars and Parts already in the U.S. No customs, no tariffs, no long shipping waits—just you connecting directly with sellers of real cars on American roads.
Is Kei Trader owned/run by a Dealer?
Kei Trader is not owned or affiliated with a dealer; however, our community is small and many dealers know and support one-another. This site was developed and is run by an independent Kei vehicle enthusiest to help connect private sellers of both vehicles and parts to buyers in a centralized way rather than combing through listing groups/forums/sites. See below for operational plan.
How does KeiTrader.com work for Sellers?
Private sellers register for free and can post or remove listings at any time. You’ll receive inquiries via email (your address stays private until you reply), and periodic reminders to update or remove listings as your inventory changes.
I'm a Dealer, can I list my vehicles here?
KeiTrader.com is built to cater to private sellers and we encourage Dealers to check out KeiTruckMarketplace.com to be vetted as a full scale dealership/partner. They are working to be the central hub of vetted Dealers and Shops around the US helping to get your business the exposure and credit you deserve. You are welcome to list from your personal collection here on KeiTrader.com though!
How does KeiTrader.com work for Buyers?
Buyers simply browse, search, and message sellers through the form at the bottom of each listing. Look for sellers who are comfortable with shipping (at additional cost) if you need the car or part delivered outside their local area.
How does KeiTrader.com make money?
The core mission of KeiTrader.com is to offer FREE listing services for sellers and no cost to buyers inquiring on listings, so right now we don't! Developing the site, paying for hosting and resources does come at a cost. See below on how we plan to stay true to our core mission.
What's the plan for the future of KeiTrader.com?
- Leverage advertising throughout the site (i.e. banners) from companies that offer complimentary services to buyers/sellers such as Insurance, inland Transportation providers and parcel shipping companies. (This will not include e-mail spam)
- Build a section for sellers to list parts to help clear out their garages of leftover items that could benefit others. (ALL SET!) We'll also aim to include an In Search Of (ISO) portion of the site for gaining help in finding that ultra rare part.
- Implement a "Featured" listing option where sellers can post more pictures, including higher quality images.
- Offer merchandise—either our own or swag from popular figures (Dealers, YouTubers, etc.) in the Kei community.
- Explore income opportunities to cover hosting costs (e.g., more pictures, email volume).
- Feel free to contact us with ideas or inquire about advertising with us.
First and formost, we need to gain enough revenue to cover operational costs of KeiTrader.com (Website hosting, image storage, email hosting, etc). We plan to tackle this in a variety of ways:
